Without a doubt, Chicago is celebrated for its authentic culture and bustling music scene.
The sandy coastline and grassy fields of Oakwood Beach in Chicago’s historic Bronzeville neighborhood is home to Mamby on the Beach music festival. One of the city’s youngest and most popular summer festivals, the event will return this year for its fourth installment! Oh yeah, did we mention it’s Chicago’s only beachfront music festival?
On June 23-24, attendees can kick back and enjoy the impressively diverse lineup the festival has to offer while admiring the skyline and those great Lake Michigan views. With artists on the lineup like Common, Grizzly Bear, Gorgon City, Russ, Whethan, Duke Dumont, Dixon, Jai Wolf, Richie Hawtin, Gene Farris, Moon Boots, and Jax Jones (to just name a few), we’re certain this year will be an absolute hit! There’s quite a bit of variety on the bill; attendees are definitely in for a treat with the techno, funk, indie, hip-hop, and genre-blending live electronic performances scheduled for the weekend.
Emerging talent booked for this year’s installment of Mamby will certainly pull in sizable crowds on their own too. Unquestionably, Jamila Woods will perform a lively set and we’re excited to experience PIVOT Gang’s Joseph Chillams’ debut festival performance. Walker & Royce’s groove-heavy deep house sounds are sure to be an awesome time, and rappers ShowYouSuck and Jack Harlow will definitely put on a memorable show. We could go on and on about Mamby’s incredible roster, but we’d rather let the music speak for itself… Check out our Mamby on the Beach 2018 curated playlists!

In addition, festival organizers have further developed the event’s community involvement by incorporating a new Community Village that is devoted to a variety of nonprofit organizations with positive pursuits; for example, a stage presenting talent from young authors in and around the Chicago area. Further, this year the festival is introducing the Doggie Dome. Hosted by One Tail at a Time, attendees will have the opportunity to interact with a variety of adoptable doggos each day and even apply to take them home!
This one-of-a-kind festival will also host a water balloon fight, yoga, art installations, nutrition and wellness workshops, poetry slams, beautification stations, volleyball, and a plethora of Chicago’s local food vendors.
Ticket packages range from $79-$189, and they can be purchased from the official site HERE. With just a few weeks until the festival, tickets are selling fast and prices are increasing! We encourage everyone to secure their passes soon!
