The end of 2018 was definitely spent right if you enjoyed the explosive performances at Radiance NYE in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The Electronic Music community, hailing from all over the Midwest, flooded the famous Wisconsin Center for a bass twisted New Year’s celebration. The night consisted of a refreshing lineup of national/local performers that represent a diverse spectrum of electronic music. Producers Spock, Whipped Cream, Bear Grillz and Riot Ten finished 2018 strong while Co-headliners Zeds Dead and Excision started 2019 with a bang. The impressive secondary side stage, curated by Planet Filth and DubHub, was packed with promising local talent like Birthdayy Partyy, Kleavr, Porn and Chicken, Axilon, and many more. We really appreciate effort put forth by event coordinators to promote up-and-coming local talent at such a large scale event!

The music at Radiance NYE, put simply, was incredible. Our night started off with Spock and Whipped cream playing plenty of hard-hitting original tunes. While Riot Ten was mixing some familiar classics, Bear Grillz dropped some new unreleased tracks. Next, our Deadbeats duo Zeds Dead brought the heat by performing “Eleanor Rigby.” This track originally debuted at Lost Lands and it’s one of my favorite unreleased Beatles remixes. They ended their set just before midnight with a mix of “Where Is My Mind” by the Pixies that left the crowd yearning for more. Excision played a phenomenal hour-and-a-half set with nostalgic material from his current Paradox tour while keeping it fresh by featuring tracks off of his upcoming APEX 2019 tour. He even had the pleasure of announcing the NYE countdown with bundles of balloons suspended above the dancefloor for the celebratory balloon drop!

From the Monaco tasting to the free water cups, I’d say this event was very well coordinated. The staff was courteous and security was quick. Since the convention center is so large, there surprisingly wasn’t a time in which it felt crowded. There was even an outdoor space for smoking and cooling off! Another new feature were lockers that were available to rent online prior to showing up to speed up entrance procedures; each of them comes conveniently with a phone charger too. In addition to the incredible lineup and eclectic production, the immeasurable amount of space within the Convention Center’s walls made ample room for attendees to explore. There was also great sound quality with very little reverb, which made for a truly idyllic transition into the new year. Overall, the night was a huge success! Most fans expressed their content over the event and said they would happily return in upcoming years.
