Each summer, souls old and new arrive to Electric Forest starry-eyed, brimming with excitement, and curious as to what sights and sounds will stick with them long after they’ve gone. For the veterans, no homecoming could be sweeter. And for those first-timers awaiting the experience of a lifetime, no weekend could be more highly anticipated.
Now returning for its 10th year, Decade One of The Forest promises a legendary celebration filled with music, food, art, and family. From June 25th-28th, witness the beloved Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury, Michigan transform into the site of one of the world’s premier music festivals—a bucket-list destination for many and an annual pilgrimage for most. Whichever category you fall into, there are sure to be magical surprises around every corner—and no shortage of fun!
Enter: the tunes. One of the mainstays of Electric Forest is a meticulously curated, unique lineup that defies genre—this year is no exception. Expect to stumble upon everything from bluegrass, funk, and jam bands, to international dubstep and house artists. Whether you lose yourself in the massive crowds of the main stage or groove to the more intimate vibes of the silent disco, you’ll always have plenty of options to fit your mood and style.
Headliners for Decade One include THE STRING CHEESE INCIDENT, BASSNECTAR, FLUME, LOUIS THE CHILD, THE DISCO BISCUITS, and DIPLO, among others. The undercard is also undeniably strong, featuring the likes of 12th PLANET, CLOZEE, DUKE DUMONT, G JONES, RAINBOW KITTEN SURPRISE, SUBTRONICS, TCHAMI, CASHMERE CAT, LSDREAM, SUNSQUABI, and SLENDERBODIES. Music aside, what isn’t there to do in Sherwood Forest? Daily yoga, workshops at The Brainery, waterpark access, carnival rides, art installations and performance groups scattered about, tarot readings, hot air balloon rides—it’s all there, ripe for the taking. Whether you want to sink into a hammock and listen to the spirit of the forest unfold around you, or headbang at the rail of Tripolee, there’s something for everyone.
