Written by Breton Spiller

North Coast Music Festival has gone all out again with a stacked lineup for their labor day weekend festival in Bridgeview, IL. Moreover, they haven’t just selected top-notch headliners; the entire lineup is brimming with talent. We’re here to highlight some of these undercard artists that should not be overlooked!

Local music groups What’s Good Chicago, EDM Chicago, and Ether Presents are all working with North Coast to bring you all some top-tier local talent from all around the Midwest. You can find each group taking over The Fire Pit throughout the weekend, and we’re here to let you know about some of the fabulous local DJs scheduled to bring the heat.

WHAT’S GOOD CHICAGO TAKEVOER – FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST

The weekend starts with a takeover by What’s Good Chicago, the city’s prime source for music, events, and more. The lineup for their takeover features local and regional house music artists that are sure to get the place bumping.

Masteria

Masteria is a Detroit-Based DJ and Producer with music on Musical Freedom, Insomniac, Confession, Mau5trap & more. He has also played some of the nation’s biggest festivals and has a plethora of original tunes that are sure to get the crowd moving and grooving. We’ve had this incredible artist out for one of our events in the past, and we can assure you this is not a set you want to miss!

Masteria

Phox

Coming from the Milwaukee, WI, area, the fantastic Phox is returning to North Coast again this year. Her set at last year’s festival had the crowd jumping and grooving, and we expect nothing less this time around! Phox has played on lineups with artists such as AC Slater, Sacha Robotti, J. Worra, and many more, so you know she’s got the skills.

THNKN

Local Chicago house artist THNKN is making another festival appearance at North Coast after playing the Silent Disco at Summer Camp Music Festival earlier this year. THNKN throws down some stellar bass house and has been making a big splash in the local scene lately. We are definitely “thnkn” that catching this is a good idea.

EDM CHICAGO TAKEOVER – SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2ND

Day 2 at the fire pit features a takeover by Chicago staple EDM Chicago. If you aren’t in the EDM Chicago Facebook group, you’re missing out on the hottest upcoming events, new music, and more. The way this group has immersed itself in the community, it’s no surprise their takeover lineup is so good. Let’s see who they’ve got.

Able Grey

With his melodic masterpieces, Chicago’s own Able Grey will bring all the vibes to the fire pit. With production comparable to Porter Robinson, Apashe, and the like, Able Grey has been making significant moves in the electronic music world, and we are beyond excited to get the chance to see him play again.

Zoska

Oh boy, you guys are in for a wonky treat with this one! Zoska has been crushing it in the bass music scene. Her recent release with Dirt Monkey entitled “Flow” is an absolute banger, and a whole set of tunes like that is definitely what the doctor ordered. Add Zoska to your schedule now!

ZOSKA

Mooski

Look no further if you’re looking for a sick drum and bass set. Our girl Mooski has got you covered. Mooski also throws down some dope experimental bass tunes, so you never quite know what you’ll get with this one, only that it will be a total vibe. That makes it all the more tempting to catch this set, though, doesn’t it?

ETHER TAKEOVER – SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD

Finally, we close the Fire Pit on Sunday with a diverse lineup from the new-to-the-scene group Ether Presents. Since its 2022 debut, Ether Presents has made some MAJOR progress as an event production company, booking some of the industry’s most prominent artists and working with some of the biggest venues. With a roster like theirs, this takeover lineup is sure to impress.

Orbiix

This guy has absolutely zero chill lately when it comes to music production. Orbiix has been dropping heater after heater making him what we believe to be a top upcoming dubstep and bass music producer in the area. Add this masked mastermind to your schedule if you want a set full of mind-melting bass.

Drty Drty

Now, if you’re just looking to have a damn good time, you better catch this Drty Drty set. This man knows how to get the people moving and jumping. Not only is Drty Drty a top-notch DJ, but he’s also a wonderful human who supports the community in more ways than we can count. We highly recommend checking this set out if you want to feel the love.

ZYN

Finally, to close out our list, we’ve got another up-and-coming Chicago-based producer named ZYN. If you’re interested in headbanging dubstep and riddim, this is the one for you. With several shows under his belt and plenty of original tracks on SoundCloud, we believe ZYN is ready to show North Coast how it’s done.

ZYN

These are just some of the incredible artists scheduled to play for you at North Coast this year. We highly suggest looking into some of the other undercard names because they are all beyond deserving of their slots.
